March 2010
1st International Electro Classics Rallye - electric vehicle event
A story by Patrick
The world´s first historical EV driving event. Between Oct 15 and 18, 2010, Munich and Upper Bavaria will be the center of the historic and present EV scene. We will drive old, young and brand new electric cars through beautiful Bavarian landscapes and demonstrate that EVs were ready to roll 100 years ago.
Start and finish of the two-day trip towards the famous Walchensee Kraftwerk will be situated at the central place in Munich´s Deutsches Museum. Both places mark cornerstones of the work of one of Munich´s - Bavaria´s - Germany´s - Europe´s greatest inventor of the 20th century: Oskar von Miller.
It was him who brought electricity to Bavaria by managing the world´s first long distance power transmission in 1882, built the then biggest pumped-storage power station in the world - Walchensee Kraftwerk - and who had the visionary idea to conserve the artefacts of the early industrial age in "his" Deutsches Museum.
Please follow by subscribing: FB Page and support by making contacts to potential sponsors and - first and foremost - collectors, owners and drivers of historic electric cars.
All important (and not so important) news will be put online first on this page: Elektro-Classics
